KANNUR: Former Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday asked why the Prime Minister, who knew about the epicentre of the gold smuggling in Kerala, was not taking action against it. Speaking to the media, he said that everyone knew that the CM's office was behind the gold smuggling.

"While Opposition leaders are constantly harassed by registering cases and conducting raids using central agencies, why is the ED not coming against Pinarayi's office even when it is said that there is clear information about gold smuggling and hawala transactions? Is the Centre not taking action because of the unholy alliance between the CPM and the BJP? The Prime Minister should give a reply in this regard. Modi's visit will not do any good for BJP good in Kerala," Ramesh Chennithala said.

"Congress should move forward with unity. All leaders must stand together. Leaders should not break the bonds within the party by giving different opinions. UDF will win all 20 seats in the upcoming Parliament elections," Ramesh Chennithala added.
